Food Safety
At Cowiche Growers, food safety and quality is a commitment that is an integral part of our operating philosophy. Beginning at blossom time in the orchards, all the way to final shipment of our products, every effort is taken to ensure a safe and quality piece of fruit is delivered into the hands of our customers.
To assure our customers of this commitment, our Food Safety Program is designed to integrate GAP, SQF, and HAACP guidelines. All employees are routinely trained to make sure they know and follow the food safety guidelines set forth under these programs. The performance of regular internal audits, along with external audits conducted by outside parties, illustrates Cowiche Growers' commitment to the importance of food safety.
Independent Audits
The following audit certifications are held by Cowiche Growers Inc and by our grower suppliers.
- Third Party warehouse certification for SQF with HACCP.
- Third Party Grower certification for Global GAP and SQF.
- GFSI approved audit scheme and FSMA/FDA.
- Washington State Dept. of Agriculture inspectors are on site daily to verify quality and grade specifications are being met.
